Founded by David Lem in 1991, Lem Construction, Inc. has grown from a start-up company with two employees into one of the premier minority general contractors in Northern California.  Despite our new reputation as a leader in the industry, Lem strives to uphold the philosophy that has become the bedrock of this firm.  This ideology employs three basic tenets: a critical focus on preconstruction, a communicative relationship with both the architect and client, and the employment of professional personnel experienced in construction operations.  We are proud of the embodiment of these beliefs and the application of these beliefs to all projects, large and small.  This practice has allowed the firm to yielded award-winning projects and acquire a base of respected clients.

Another key to the firm’s success is its dedication and promotion of diversity.  We are deeply rooted in our purpose: “demonstrating the power of diversity to strengthen the world’s social fabric” and are persistent in relaying this belief both internally and externally.  We have women and minorities representing Lem at all levels, from principals to project managers to site project personnel.  Lem also mentors and provides opportunities for other minority and women-owned firms to grow and prosper.
